So yesterday evening I was forced into this room by the Securitee but got it for free 😀
(as they confirmed me three times).
And it was a room with a view !
But it had no own bathroom but a shared one.
Were the shower did not work since the hose "was on holidays"
and the crane was useless since the water was directed towards the wall.
I could not even fill my bidon with it 💣.
The manager then showed me a "decent" shower at the groundfloor behind the inhouse (abandoned) barbershop.
Decent means that it was usable, here the "hose" was a metal tube that could not be "on holidays".
What more could you need ?
Then I walked to the closest bar were I could eat something.
But just after I had ordered a nice plate and a lemonade the volume of both tv's was put to it's super-maximum.
Murphy had diner here too !
It now was so loud I could not sit there anymore without putting my fingers in my ears.
So how to eat now ???
I moved to the farest table outside around the corner, did not enjoy the meal and left soonest 👎.
In Morocco very many men visit the cafes (but no women) were they look football.
All day, all night, all year.
They all turn their chair towards the tv's and sit there like in a theatre.
The next morning the view was like this ...
According the weatherforecast it should be very sunny in this region.
But this was not at all a pretty situation to cycle in.
Besides that, and exactly as I had expected to happen, the manager demanded Dh 100 for the room 💥.
However I agreed but on the condition that I could stay more nights for that same price.
That was oké so I decided to stay one more night to hopefully have normal weather tomorrow.
I didn't inform him about the windowshutter being stuck that I had solved by taping the tablecloth to the window.
And I didn't inform him about the fruit in the vitrine in the lobby that (all !) was rotten.
The Securitee officer told me yesterday the hotel was even famous.
Was that maybe for it's quality 💯 ?
I found some leftover chocolate in my handlebarbag and it was still in pretty good shape so it was my first breakfast 🙈.
When I asked about the fog people told me that we were at only 10 kms from the Barrage Al Wahda,
a big waterreservoir of 25 x 5 km.
All that water was causing the fog every night and morning.
The day I would leave here I would cycle along that reservoir.
At about noon the fog had gone and it was time to explore the town.
A cafe that is closed is a perfect spot to drop your garbage !
Donkeys waiting in the full sun for hours without having water is common practice ...
The football field.
Today there was the market.
Maybe it is every day ?
Morocco is totally filled with energy-saving lightbulbs.
But all private tv's are very old so of the energy-eating generation.
Only cafes and hotels have modern flatscreen tv's since only those can be hanged to a wall.
Where they generate money.
People from outside town heading for the marketplace.
The hat of this woman is typical for Berber-people.
The colors can also be blue plus yellow.
I bought a small one as a souvenir that I hanged at a bag at my bicycle.
The highest symbol for being succesfull for Moroccon men seems to be to have a mercedes 👏.
Especially the drivers of the small busses put huge stickers on them to make clear
that this is the ultimate "something" ...
However this symptom is wellknow in Europe also 😀.
This owner even created his star himself.
Except that he was mistaken ...
This is the numberplate of the mercedes of the officer of the Securitee.
I made this picture since I didn't trust the situation concerning the free hotelroom.
But I must admit that nothing more strange happened except for that.
Later that day I noticed I now had three different clocktimes available.
That had to do with wrong settings and with the Ramadan time.
In Morocco during Ramadan the clock is changed 1 hour (again) to help people to get through the day.
Is that actually allowed by the Koran ???
I found a butcher annex restaurant.
Just point for cow or sheep and all will be fine.
Although not for the cow and the sheep.
And during diner life goes on .
The morning I left it was once more very cloudy and humid but the Sun was there just in time.
However the hotel was abandoned and I had no idea why.
Solely the owner showed up and explained me it was the first day of the Ramadan.
Were I thought that would be in two days.
I started to worry since I had no extra supplies with me.
That morning I had walked into town for a breakfast and had found Every shop and cafe closed.
So all commercial buildings would be closed every day untill the evening all over the country for the whole month to come.
I had watched The Universe that night and the stars had told me there was nothing to worry about.
"Wherever you go we will accompany you" they whispered.
Later that day it came into my mind that they maybe were also members of the Securitee ???
I left and had one last look at the storks that were trying to make a living high in the sky.
Then, to my big suprise, the Securitee stopped me and asked me if I had had a pleasant stay.
"Yes I have" I said, "but I had to pay Dh 200 since the room was not for free".
He took his wallet and handed over Dh 200 to me 👀.
I did not know what to think of that but thanked him once more and left.
It looks like the Securité has a special budget to handle tourists.
Very special to my opinion.
I wished myself luck, and I hope you will do so too 😁.
